Hugglets Teddy Bear Guide

Since 1987, the Hugglets Teddy Bear Guide has been the address book of the teddy bear world. Bear makers and artists, shops for new and old bears, suppliers, repairers, fairs and museums, gathered in one small book that stays on the shelf all year and is opened again whenever you are looking for a name, a contact or an idea.

What is inside

Seven sections cover the whole of the teddy bear world:

  • Shops and Sources for new bears
  • Shops and Sources for old bears
  • Bear Makers and Artists
  • Teddy Bear Fairs and Organisers
  • Bear Making Supplies and Courses
  • Bear Repairers
  • All Else That’s Bruin

The Bear Gallery presents the work of bear artists in full colour, page after page of characters looking for a home. Alongside the listings, every edition carries original articles written for collectors: on makers, on collections, on the history of the bears we love.

The Guide is more than a directory. Every edition also brings original articles written for collectors: the stories behind famous bears and celebrated series, visits behind the scenes of the workshops and manufacturers where bears are made, and close examinations of remarkable finds. It is a book to read through, not only to look things up in.

The Guide is printed in a handy A5 format, small enough to take to a fair and sturdy enough to last the year.

The 2027 edition

The new edition will be published on 27 October 2026, as always on the birthday of Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.

It arrives five weeks after the first Hugglets TEDDIES Festival at the NEC Birmingham, and it is the first edition compiled for the wider circle of collectors that the move brings with it.

The last edition sold out in the spring, for the first time in the history of the Guide. We are increasing the print run for 2027, but if you would like to be sure of a copy, it is worth ordering early.
