How to get there
> By car
The NEC sits at the meeting point of the M42, M6 and M40, and seventy per cent of everyone in the United Kingdom can reach it within three hours. Please use the postcode B40 1NT. The venue provides plenty of Parking Spaces. Parking is completely free for Hugglets TEDDIES Festival visitors. Here is how it works:
- Book your parking in advance at parking.thenec.co.uk
- Choose “September” and the Hugglets TEDDIES Festival from the list of events
- Enter the code HTBF27 at the checkout
- Book at least 24 hours before the day – this matters, as the code cannot be applied any later
Your space will be in the North 2 car park. Free shuttle buses run from there to the Atrium 1 entrance from 8 am, and they will bring you back to your car at the end of the day as well. There is no need to look for anywhere closer – the shuttle is included and runs throughout the day.
One practical note for the journey home: National Highways is carrying out bridge works at Junction 6 of the M42. Routes into the NEC are running completely as normal, so your arrival will be unaffected. On the way out, some routes are diverted, and everything is clearly signposted – we would simply suggest allowing a little extra time for the drive home. Rail travel is not affected at all.
> By public transport
Getting to the Hugglets TEDDIES Festival could hardly be simpler. Fly into Birmingham Airport, hop across to Birmingham International Station, and follow the Bridgelink straight into the NEC. A gentle walk, escalators or a lift up to the Skywalk, back down at the far end – and there is the entrance to Concourse Suite 1&2, right in front of you. 🧸
Fifteen to twenty minutes from the terminal, all under cover, whatever the September weather decides to do. No driving, no parking, no wrong turns. ☔️
And there is every reason to make more of it. A handful of hotels sit within walking distance of the NEC, at very different price points, so a comfortable overnight stay is easy to arrange. Birmingham itself rewards a little exploring too: canals, museums, markets, the Jewellery Quarter and some genuinely good food. 🏙️ Why not turn the Festival into a proper weekend away?
