FAQ Hugglets Christmas Extravaganza
When and where will the Christmas Extravaganza take place? The Festival takes place on Sunday, 16 November, from 10 am to 5 pm UK time on Facebook.
Why Facebook?
We chose Facebook as it is an easy-to-use platform with no complicated technical requirements. It’s easy for people to navigate and understand the system. That’s our experience with the four Online Festivals so far. Additionally, Facebook is the only platform that provides us with all the opportunities we need to bring our vision to life. The core of the Festival is communication between visitors, exhibitors and organisers.
Wouldn’t it be better to have your own website for the Festival?
This was our favourite model in the very beginning. Until we realised that it would end in “just another online sales show”. A real-life fair is much more than just a transaction between sellers and buyers. It is a social event. We had and will have something that comes as close as possible to that. We need a platform that allows for conversations, live events, and multimedia elements, combined with the opportunity for direct communication between visitors, exhibitors, and us as organisers. Our Online Festivals so far have been a confirmation that Facebook is a great platform to bring our vision to life. On the other hand, we saw some flaws and learned how to bypass them.
Who can enjoy the Festival as a visitor?
The Festival is open to all collectors and enthusiasts. The entrance from 10 am is free for Hugglets Club members. In the afternoon, the show is free for everyone.
How does communication work during the Festival?
The communication will mainly take place on Facebook Messenger and in the comments section of your gallery. It will be direct contact between exhibitors and collectors.
How are the purchases made – through the organiser or by the exhibitors themselves?
Just as in real life, we won’t interfere in the relationship between artists and collectors. The purchase process takes place between both parties. But as we do at Kensington Town Hall, we’ll offer our help if needed. Payments can be made through the Hugglets website and will be forwarded to the exhibitor immediately, less a 3% fee.
